What is CAD to BIM conversion?
It is the move from 2D CAD documentation —lines and layers with no information— to a 3D BIM model made up of intelligent elements (walls, slabs, services) with associated data. The result is not a drawing: it is a model from which automatic quantities can be extracted and disciplines coordinated.
The process
